Yesterday, I published an op-ed in Haaretz about the Jewish vote, which seeks to answer increased questions about where the Jewish vote will land in the midterm elections. The impetus for the op-ed was increased concern surrounding the rise of DSA and far-left candidates who don’t share the views and values of the vast majority of Jewish Americans.

This is even more concerning in advance of two contentious primaries in Michigan and Missouri tomorrow. JDCA has supported Reps. Haley Stevens and Wesley Bell because they stand with our community, and – despite our efforts – we cannot tell you which candidates will win.

Certain far-left candidates are so troubling from a Jewish perspective given the sharp rise of antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiment. But to put the rise of DSA in perspective. DSA and far-left candidates constitute a very small percentage of Democratic candidates in 2026 – approximately 2% of the Democratic candidates in the general elections. Compare this with the uniformity of nearly 100% of GOP candidates aligned with Donald Trump, whose dangerous policies are an anathema to Jewish voters, and the contrast is clear.


While we hear from some who feel “politically homeless” at this moment, the truth is that we have a two-party system, forcing a binary choice at the ballot box. Come November, we’re working to ensure the vast majority of Jewish voters continue to find their political home with Democrats and JDCA, but it’s not something we take for granted.


JDCA only supports candidates who share our values, and these are the exact candidates who can flip House and Senate seats from red to blue. The path to winning back control of Congress doesn’t lie with the far-left or DSA. It lies with mainstream Democrats we’re proud to support who stand with the vast majority of Jewish Americans. Sharing this letter signed by 120 Jewish Georgians Condemning Mike Collins’ "Racist, Xenophobic, and Antisemitic." Mike Collins is an extremist who is wrong in every way for Georgia.

"U.S. Representative Mike Collins shows his true colors on social media, posting and sharing racist, xenophobic, and antisemitic comments. Now he is looking to be our US Senator. As members of Georgia's Jewish community, we want to make it clear that Georgians deserve better.

"Like most groups, Jews have a wide array of perspectives on issues. Yet our Jewish tradition binds us in a belief that we should all be practicing tikkun olam - working to make the world a better place. Our Jewish values also prohibit hate speech and racism - noting that all humanity is created in the image of the divine.
Mike Collins' posts run counter to our uniting principles, and we should not tolerate it, especially in a candidate for US Senate."
