✅ No match tickets? No problem! Visit the FIFA Fan Zones and Festival Zones. Entry is free, but registration is required. Check the FIFA website for details based on your location.

Congratulations once again to Team Switzerland on an incredible journey at the 2026 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship! 🏒🇨🇭

We are proud that Switzerland had the honor of hosting this year’s championship, bringing together the best of international hockey and creating unforgettable moments for players and fans alike.

A special shout-out to captain Roman Josi for his outstanding performance. Being named tournament MVP, Best Defender, and earning a spot on the All-Star Team is a remarkable achievement and a testament to his leadership and talent. ⭐️

Congratulations as well to Team Finland on a fantastic tournament and on capturing the World Championship title in Zurich. 🇫🇮🏆

Thank you to all the players, teams, organizers, volunteers, and fans who made this championship such a memorable celebration of hockey.

Brig is one of those quiet alpine towns where history still lingers in the streets. Tucked between steep mountains and narrow valleys, it has long been a crossroads between Switzerland and Italy.

Bernhard arrives from Zermatt, leaving the Matterhorn behind as the train follows the Rhône Valley north toward Brig. Today it’s peaceful and charming, but for centuries this town was an important gateway through the Alps, especially via the famous Simplon Pass.🌄

At the center of Brig stands the beautiful Stockalper Castle, built in the 17th century by Kaspar Stockalper von Thurm, one of the most powerful merchants of his time. Wealth from salt trade, mining, and transit routes turned Brig into a thriving alpine hub.🏰

Walking through the castle’s arcaded courtyard, Bernhard imagines the merchants and travelers who once passed through these same stone pathways centuries ago. 🪨

Fun fact: Napoleon Bonaparte ordered the first real road over the Simplon Pass, not for trade, but to move his massive cannons across the Alps after conquering northern Italy. The road was completed in 1805 and became one of the first engineered carriage roads through the Alps.

What a beautiful way to close out the European Film Festival in Atlanta ! 🎥🇨🇭

We wrapped up the European Film Festival at the Plaza Theatre with Switzerland’s screening of Silent Rebellion by Marie Elsa Sgualdo, and we’re so proud to say it was sold out ! 🎟️

The film, presented in French, reflects the multicultural and multilingual spirit that’s at the heart of Swiss identity. In a country where four national languages live side by side, it’s these different regions and cultures that shape who we are.

Before the screening, we had the chance to chat (in French!) with a few guests about their time in Geneva and their travels around Switzerland. It was so special to hear their memories and to be reminded how Switzerland stays with people, even long after they’ve left.

A heartfelt thank you to the Alliance Française and Goethe Zentrum for their continued support and for putting together such a wonderful festival. We’re grateful to have taken part again this year, alongside eight other European countries.

Zermatt doesn’t feel real at first. It’s a small alpine village tucked under the unmistakable peak of the Matterhorn. Wooden chalets, flower-filled balconies, and that clean mountain air everywhere you turn. 🏔️🌬️

The Matterhorn rises to 4,478 meters and completely defines the skyline. Its pyramid shape is almost too perfect, four faces pointing roughly in different directions. Three are on the Swiss side in the Mattertal valley, and one faces Italy across the Valtournenche valley. 🏔️

Getting there is part of the experience. Cars are left in Täsch before boarding the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway for the final stretch, just 12 minutes, straight into the car-free village. 🚞 Bernhard presses his face to the window like it’s the first time seeing mountains.

Once arrived in Zermatt, everything slows down. No traffic, just electric taxis and the sound of footsteps on cobblestones. In winter it’s skiing ❄️; in summer it’s hiking trails, glaciers, and clear alpine lakes in every direction. ☀️🥾

At Stellisee, the Matterhorn shows up in the lake like it’s posing for a photo it already knows will turn out perfect. Bernhard goes quiet for a moment too, then a marmot sprints past way too close, and suddenly that’s all he cares about. 🦫

🥈 In 2026, Switzerland stands out as one of the world’s premier hiking destinations! 🇨🇭

According to a TouchNote study, the country ranks 2nd worldwide, trailing only Canada 🇨🇦 and placing ahead of Italy 🇮🇹, the United States 🇺🇸, and Norway 🇳🇴.

The ranking draws on AllTrails data from multiple countries and evaluates five factors: average trail rating, average number of reviews, trail length, difficulty level, and scenic beauty score.

Switzerland nearly claimed the top position, with an outstanding 4.77/5 average rating and a remarkable 9.79/10 beauty score. ⭐

It also excels in lesser-known treasures: 6 of the 10 most underrated hikes globally are located in Switzerland, including three in the spectacular Oeschinensee area.

With landscapes like these, it’s no wonder Switzerland continues to capture the hearts of hikers around the world. 🌄
