Survivor Advocacy Outreach Program

Survivor Advocacy Outreach Program SAOP is an organization dedicated to preventing and responding to relational trauma in Southeast OH.

Survivor Advocacy Outreach Program (SAOP), serving Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, and Vinton Counties in Southeast Ohio, seeks to create a SAFE community where victims and survivors of sexual assault, dating/ domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and stalking are thoroughly respected and supported. SAOP works to empower the community to deal with these issues through confid

SAOP is currently collecting personal hygiene items to help support survivors in need throughout our community.

Many individuals accessing services may be leaving unsafe situations with very few personal belongings. Having basic hygiene items available can help provide comfort, dignity, and immediate support during difficult moments.

We are especially in need of:
• Toothbrushes
• Toothpaste
• Bar soap & body wash
• Deodorant (men’s & women’s)
• Feminine hygiene products
• Pads (various sizes)
• Tampons
• Panty liners

Donations of any kind are appreciated, including monetary contributions that allow us to purchase urgently needed items as needs arise.

If you would like to donate, please contact SAOP or stop by during business hours. Thank you for helping us care for survivors in our community.

Email [email protected] or call (740) 591-4266 to make your donation today.

SAOP is currently seeking the donation of an area rug for a family who has recently moved into a new home.

As families transition into safe and stable housing, household items can make a meaningful difference in helping a space feel comfortable and welcoming. We are hoping to help this family create a more functional and cozy environment as they settle into their new home.

If you have a clean, gently used, or new area rug you would be willing to donate, please contact SAOP directly.

Thank you for continuing to support survivors and families in our community.

Email [email protected] or call (740) 277-8864 to make your donation today.

SAOP is currently seeking Kroger and Walmart gift card donations to help support survivors and families in need.

Right now, we are working with a family experiencing significant food insecurity while navigating specific dietary needs that make traditional food donations difficult. Gift cards allow families the flexibility to purchase the food and essentials that best meet their needs.

If you are able to contribute, gift cards of any amount can make a direct and immediate impact.

Donations can be dropped off at SAOP or coordinated directly with our team. Thank you for helping us support survivors in our community with dignity, care, and compassion.

Email [email protected] or call (740) 277-8864 to make your donation today.

SAOP recently attended the vendor fair at Hocking Valley Community Hospital, where staff had the opportunity to connect with community members, hospital staff, and fellow service providers throughout the day.

Events like this are an important way to increase awareness of SAOP’s services in Hocking County and strengthen relationships with local partners. Staff shared information about advocacy services, answered questions about support available to survivors, and discussed the importance of hospital advocacy and coordinated care for individuals accessing SAFE exams and related services.

SAOP is grateful to Hocking Valley Community Hospital for hosting the event and looks forward to continuing conversations and collaboration to help ensure survivors in our region have access to compassionate, informed support when they need it most.
