The Gathering Place The Gathering Place is a community support drop-in center promoting recovery for adults coping with mental illness.

The Gathering Place is a community-based non-profit support organization for adults recovering from mental illness. The Gathering Place is open everyday Monday-Saturday 10am-8pm and Sunday 10am-6pm. The Gathering Place fosters recovery by encouraging participants to help and support one another, by promoting community integration, and by enhancing personal development, well-being, and healthy living.

Boots on the Trail — Athens Area Stand Down

Boots on the Trail would like to share information about the 11th Annual Athens Area Stand Down, taking place Friday, October 2, 2026, from 10 AM–2 PM at the Athens County Fairgrounds, 286 W. Union Street, Athens, Ohio.

This free event provides food, clothing, personal care items, and information about available resources for veterans and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

10 AM–12 PM: Veterans Only — proof of military service required
12 PM–2 PM: Open to the Public

Services and information will also be available regarding healthcare, housing solutions, employment, substance abuse treatment, mental health counseling, and other essential resources.

If you are a veteran or know someone who could benefit from these resources, please share this information and help spread the word.
