🚨 Outdoor Warning Sirens: What You Need to Know 🚨
Limestone County EMA wants to remind residents about the purpose of outdoor warning sirens across our community.
🔊 These sirens are designed to alert people who are OUTDOORS of immediate hazards such as:
• Tornado warnings
• Other urgent emergencies requiring immediate action
🏠 Important: Sirens are not meant to be heard clearly indoors. Always have multiple ways to receive alerts, including:
• NOAA Weather Radio
• Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) on your phone
• Local media and weather apps
⏱️ When a siren sounds, take it seriously:
Seek shelter immediately
Move indoors to a sturdy building
Stay tuned to trusted information sources
*Monthly siren testing is conducted on the first Wednesday of each month at 9:15am/
