SUMMER MEAL PROGRAM Athens City Schools is pleased to offer the 2026 Summer Meal Program for children 18 years old and younger in Athens and Limestone County. Meals will be served at Athens Elementary School from June 1 through June 18, Monday through Thursday.

🍎Lunch: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM

🔈RE-ENROLL TODAY Athens City Schools Returning Student Registration (Re-Enrollment) for the 2026-2027 school year is going on now for rising 1st - 12th grade students currently enrolled in AES, BES, CES, JNES, AIS, AMS, and AHS.

💻Check your primary email account for a Snapcode from PowerSchool Registration Support and follow the instructions provided to complete re-enrollment. A separate Snapcode email will be sent for each currently enrolled student. If you did not receive your snapcode, please contact your school. If you need access to a device to complete re-enrollment, please stop by ACS Central Office on Monday - Thursday from 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM. Please note, you must upload the following documents during the re-enrollment process: proof of residence and parent/guardian driver’s license or ID. Updated immunization records are required for rising 6th-grade students.

🚍If you need bus transportation for your K-8 student this fall, you must sign up during this re-enrollment process. Learn more at acs-k12.org/transportation. Please note that bus service is not available for students at Athens High School or Athens Renaissance School.

Today, Athens Middle School celebrated some of our finest educators as they retired after 25+ years of dedicated service. Our school is what it is today because of their leadership, commitment, and love for students throughout the years. Their impact on AMS will continue for generations to come.

The celebration kicked off with introductions for each retiree, heartfelt words shared in their honor, and special gifts to recognize their years of service. AMS proudly presented each retiree with a legacy brick, and their departments shared personal gifts to celebrate the memories and relationships built along the way.

Thank you to the friends and family members who joined us for this special reception as we honored these incredible educators and their lasting legacy at AMS!

LAST DAY/EARLY DISMISSAL REMINDER

🗓The last day of school for Athens City Schools students is Thursday, May 21, and is a scheduled Early Dismissal Day.

⏰Early Dismissal Schedule:
*Pre-K 10:45 AM
*K-3 11:15 AM
*AMS 11:30 AM
*AHS 11:45 AM

🚍Buses will depart at each school's early dismissal time, so please plan for your bus rider to arrive home earlier than usual. Please note, Latchkey will NOT be available. If you have any questions, please contact your school.

📢Reminder: There will be no school on Thursday, May 21, for Athens Intermediate School and SPARK Academy at Cowart Elementary students (see email for additional information from AIS and CES).

AMS students have worked hard all year, and Friday we celebrated their iReady growth with a kickball tournament! 🖤💛🦅

Our students showed determination in the classroom, and it was so much fun watching them enjoy some friendly competition and celebrate their accomplishments together. Here’s a glimpse into the fun our 7-8th graders had during the tournament! ⚽️🎉

We are proud of the growth, perseverance, and teamwork our students have shown this year — both academically and on the field!
