Since its creation in the late 1940's, the zoo has undergone many changes. Currently, the zoo contains only non-releasable animals naturally found in the state of Georgia. By educating the public and allowing even one person to forge

a lasting connection with an animal, Bear Hollow Zoo helps motivate people to protect wildlife and the habitats that they depend upon.

Due to the heat advisory, some resident animals have access to their night houses to stay cool and may not be visible.
