Coming to Mud Day tomorrow? Make sure you wear shoes that stay on your feet. This glass was picked up along the trail to the mud area. It could wash into the water or cut your feet if you don't have on shoes.

Do your campers debate over a beaver vs. otter? We had that discussion today. We finally settled on the answer. What do you all think? Are they beavers or otters? Could they be something mythical?

Good day! We are asking for help. We could use old t-shirts (clean) and old sheets (clean, solid colors) for camp. We are using the items for a special project called The Camp Wishing Tree and some amazing fort building.
If you have these items, you can make arrangements with Michelle Cash at [email protected] to drop the items off at the nature center.
For a quick story related to the wishing tree, go to this link https://www.halifaxtreeproject.com/wish-tree

Here's a little inspiration for you all today to go outside. The more that we enjoy nature and spend time outside, the more it should make us want to protect it. Thank you Doris (our resident gopher tortoise) for the inspiration to go outside. (and thank you Sophie Bronson for the photos)

Snake Day was May 2nd. We had an outstanding number of attendees. Thank you for supporting the nature center. Thank you for coming out to learn about snakes and meet expert herpteologist (scientist that study amphibians and reptiles). We had over 600 people in attendance.

Our nature center is a special place and we do our best to encourage a love of nature. Even for the things we don't fully understand. Today as we say Happy Birthday to David Attenborough, we hope that we do you all justice in getting to experience nature. We do this in hope that you too will care about our natural world. That is why we offer events like Snake Day.
Thank you again for supporting us!
