Pssst - we have a surprise! YOU spoke, we listened! How about some shade at the Wiggley Field Dog Park at Southeast Clarke Park? 🤩 🤩 🤩 Yep, you heard that right!

New Shade Structures coming soon to the 2 large fields at Wiggley Field! But... progress is sometimes a little inconvenient. We will have to close the fields for a few days to let the construction crew come in to lay the foundation and install the poles for the shade structures, and keep our furry friends safe.

The 2 large fields at Wiggley Field will be closed on Wednesday, September 29, 2021-Tuesday, October 4, 2021 for construction and improvements.

The small middle field will be open, but if noise and construction smells and equipment are a concern for your pup, check out the dog parks at Sandy Creek Park and Memorial Park over the next week or so.

Update!

All parks and facilities are open, except Bear Hollow Zoo and Morton Theatre. Outdoor basketball and volleyball courts remain closed.

In response to the current health concerns and safety at this time, all Leisure Services Department sponsored events, programs, and classes are suspended until March 29, 2020. All currently scheduled private rentals at Leisure Services parks and facilities will continue as scheduled at this time, unless canceled by the renter. Our parks and facilities remain open for self-directed use.

The Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department is working with Athens-Clarke County Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and reviewing information from the CDC and Public Health to monitor the Coronavirus (COVID-19). The safety and health of the public and our staff is always our highest priority.
