Limestone County Council on Aging The Council on Aging provides programs and assistance focused on the goal of keeping senior citizens

The Council on Aging offers the following programs to seniors 55 and over (depending on program guidelines) in Athens & Limestone County.
*Legal Assistance through an elder law attorney.
*SHIP Insurance counseling for new Medicare clients
*SenioRX prescription assistance (55+)
*Meals on Wheels- meals for the home bound
*Transportation services for doctors visits & shopping by appointment (60+) & t

o our local senior activity centers.
*In-Home Services- Seniors & disabled to assist with needs in the home.
*Health & Wellness community groups & screenings.
*Senior Centers- Lunchtime nutritional meal, dancing, games (including many cards game groups), music, off-site outings. The centers also host an exercise class on M, W & F from 8:30am-9:30am. This is a low impact program taught by a professional exercise instructor.
