Hello, my name is Botie Hillhouse and I am running for Henderson County Sheriff. I was born and raised in Athens, Henderson County, Texas. I am married to Stacy Hillhouse, who is currently the Malakoff ISD Police Chief. We have four girls, Mackenzie, AnnMarie, Rylee, and Dylann. I attended school in Athens, graduating from Athens High School. While in school, I was an active member in Livestock Sh

owing / Judging along with holding several Officer positions within Future Farmers of America. I continue to support area FFA organizations. I attended Trinity Valley Community College, receiving an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. In 1998, I started working as a Detention Officer for the Henderson County Sheriff's Office. In 1999, I attended Kilgore College receiving my Peace Officers License and started reserving for the Eustace Police Department while I continued working for the Sheriff's Office as a Detention Officer. After two months (due to change in Sheriff’s Office policy) I was able to change my Peace Officer commission to the Sheriff’s Office. Throughout my 17 years in law enforcement I have worked in or supervised every division within the Sheriff's Office. I have held the following positions within Sheriff's Office:

As Chief Deputy, along with Sheriff Ray Nutt, I prepare and oversee the over ten million dollar budget along with submitting the budget
to the Henderson County Commissioner’s Court. Since becoming Major in 2010, I have assisted Sheriff Nutt with the budget by being conservative with tax dollars and returning budgeted monies back to Henderson County without cutting law enforcement services for the citizens. I have dedicated my life and career to the citizens of Henderson County, focusing on how to help make Henderson County a safer and enjoyable place to live. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family, hunting, fishing, camping, and training / raising search and rescue Bloodhounds

It is an extreme honor to be swore in as Henderson County Sheriff. Thank you County Judge Wade McKinney for swearing me in! I would also like to thank my family and the citizens of Henderson County for putting your trust in me and our Sheriff’s Office. The employees of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office are top notch and I love them all. We have a lot more work to do and will continue to work hard for you all. Hope you all have a Happy New Year!

I am announcing that I will be running for re-election in the 2020 Republican primary. It has been a tremendous honor and privilege to serve as your Henderson County Sheriff and I am asking for your support to continue to move this County forward.

We have done many things here at the Sheriff's Office and I feel there is more to do. I will continue to lead this Office in the fight to apprehend lawbreakers and make Henderson County a better place for our loved ones.

We will be starting new programs in the upcoming months and there are many great things to come.

Our future can be judged by our past where we have established an excellent K-9 division, added another boat patrol unit so we can now cover both Cedar Creek Lake and Lake Palestine, added a drone to our toolbox, brought back the Sheriff's Posse for community outreach and inmate labor programs, and the successful Most Wanted video program to name a few.

Most important I kept my campaign promise to crack down on drugs here in Henderson County. We have arrested thousands of folks to make our streets a better place.

I am asking for your vote in the March 2020 Republican primary to help me continue our progress here at the Sheriff's Office.

I want to say I am honored that you have put your faith in me and humbled by the support you have shown. I am fortunate to have work my whole career for all of Henderson County and will continue to put my heart and soul in keeping all of us safe and protected. Yesterday was a great first day and I look forward to many more in the days ahead.
