Through a collaborative grant award with Athens Area Homeless Shelter provided by Resilient Northeast Georgia, staff at both agencies will have year long opportunities to grow their knowledge and skills in trauma-informed practices. On Monday, we held a training with the Georgia Conflict Center to learn more about restorative approaches to conflict. This information and hands-on learning experience will allow program staff to better handle challenging situations that honors the dignity of everyone's experience while also respectfully addressing conflict. We can't wait to put our tools into practice!

Thanks to a generous $20,000 grant from , more families in Athens will have the support they need to stay safely housed. Our prevention program jumps in when families have experienced an unexpected emergency leaving them unable to pay their rent.🏡💜

This investment helps strengthen stability for families in our community and moves us closer to a future where every family has a place to call home.

On Saturday, Family Promise hosted our first Family Day of the year. Thank you to all of the volunteers and donors who helped support the event through your donations and presence! Family Days were developed out of a recognition of a need for opportunities for community building, engagement, and just pure fun! We can't wait to host more events in the months ahead - want to get involved? Last week, we held our first (of many) Community Classes. This workshop on budgeting providing parents the opportunity to learn and share about their own challenges with budgeting, while also providing tangible next steps to help save for the future. We believe that knowledge is power, and providing safe spaces for parents to build skills will directly impact their ability to stay stable.

This one goes out to the table hosts! 26 different groups coming from congregations, civic organizations, and the community volunteered to host tables for our event. They all came up with their own beautiful theme and tablescape - everything from Wizard of Oz to Mah Jongg to Mardi Gras! Without these individuals, La Table would not be possible!
