The Athena City Pool is officially closed for the season. Thank you to all of our citizens who enjoyed a day at the pool and our lifeguards who kept it running all summer. We will see you back in June 2027!

Update on the City Pool

Apologies we ran into some staffing issues for this last week and have to adjust our hours again. We had the best intentions but it is hard when almost all the lifeguards are athletes and start Fall sports practices on Monday.

Saturday, August 15- Open 12-4pm
Sunday, August 16- Open 12-7pm
Monday, August 17- Open 12-5pm
Tuesday, August 18- Open 12-5pm
Wednesday, August 19- Open 12-5pm
Thursday, August 20- Open 12-5pm
Friday, August 21- Open 12-5pm
Saturday, August 22- Open 12-7pm (Back to School Splash 5-7pm hosted by Athena Christian Church - school supply hand out)

Wednesday, August 5th - Pool will be closed again today due to air quality! We are really hoping to open by the weekend if it clears up 🤞

The City of Athena is looking to fill a vacancy on our Planning Commission. The commission meets once a month to review any new and open development permits, review city ordinances and the comprehensive plan. If interested, please inquire at City Hall. We will be accepting letters of interest until September 4th.

The Athena City Pool is closed again today due to air quality. We apologize, we are eager to start opening on a regular schedule again!
