The Cave

The Cave Located on the corner of Main and Second Street in Athena, Oregon, it's part of the Athena Spit-n-Shine Car and Truck Wash. We call it "The Cave".

It's located on the corner of Main and 2nd St. in Athena, Oregon. The exact year this structure was built is not known, however, documentation that has been found shows it was already here in 1881. This building is older than the town of Athena which happened on May 16, 1889. Originally a blacksmith shop we have found and dug up many items from that time, which we display on a board on the wall, come on down and take a look. It is remembered most for being a SHELL service garage.
