When one of our refrigerators failed last week, Juan stepped up in a big way by donating a commercial refrigerator (on right) in excellent condition to Atascadero Loaves and Fishes. Community support like this keeps our doors open and allows us to keep serving local families without missing a beat.

Teamwork makes the rescue work! 🤝

Behind every food rescue, there is a team that is committed to distributing high-quality food to our neighbors in need. Agency Direct Rescue takes coordination between partner volunteers, donors, and the SLO Food Bank: schedules have to be coordinated, inventory managed, bags packed, and food safely handled at every step.

We want to recognize some awesome teamwork that happens every day at ALF Food Pantry in Atascadero! They bring their A-team to everything they do.❤️

Happy National Catfish Month! To celebrate, ALF Loaves and Fishes is offering catfish in our food boxes all month long for anyone who would like it.
If catfish sounds good to you, just let our team know when you pick up your box!

Thanks to the community for donating cans of soup during July. The soup made nutritious lunches and dinners for our clients, especially students home on summer break. Donations of soup are welcome year round.
In August the pasta sauce shelves at ALF Food Pantry need filling. Donated pasta sauce can be any flavor, but should be in plastic or metal containers and preferably 15 ounces. Please help fill the shelves and provide an easy meal for food-insecure local families.
Donations can be delivered to the Pantry (5411 El Camino Real, Atascadero between 8 and 10 am and 1 and 3 pm Monday through Friday.
Monetary donations can be delivered to the pantry. There is also an Amazon Wish List featuring pasta sauce and other shelf-stable items.
