It's long but good! https://www.facebook.com/KevinHayslettFL/posts/pfbid02FRXpzJEF7jAbA5sTnA4WG67gwiuSn9Sy1Pmb9N1gYdSKCAYA6JLahVrv72HqcS19l?mibextid=ZSwUGG
I read a poll this week that made me wonder—when are Americans finally going to admit that Trump was right?
Every time his policies are put into action, they work. Every time the media insists he’s failing, the numbers tell a different story. But if you turn on CNN, read the New York Times, or listen to the usual political talking heads, you’d think the country is falling apart under his leadership. The reality? The opposite is happening.
For years, the media has pushed a version of America that simply doesn’t exist. They told us Kamala Harris was a rising star, a “historic leader” who represented the future. She was praised endlessly, showered with glowing headlines, and propped up by the press at every turn. Yet, when it actually came time for real Americans to decide, they overwhelmingly rejected her ideas, her policies, and everything she stood for. That’s what keeps happening: The media tells us one thing, but voters tell a different story at the ballot box.
Take last week’s State of the Union, for example. Instead of serious policy discussions, Democrats decided to turn the event into a spectacle. They dressed in matching pink outfits and waved auctioneer paddles, as if they were taking bids at a charity fundraiser. The problem? The American people have already outbid them. A New York Times/Ipsos poll shows 79% of Americans support Trump’s executive order banning biological men from competing in women’s sports, including 67% of Democrats. Even California Governor Gavin Newsom, who has never been afraid to embrace the far left, has been forced to side with Trump on this issue.
So while Democrats were throwing their little pink protest, the reality is that the public has already moved on without them. And if that stunt wasn’t embarrassing enough, their most disgraceful moment was when they refused to applaud a child battling cancer. The same politicians who lecture America about “compassion” and “decency” couldn’t bring themselves to support a sick child—because that would mean clapping for something connected to Trump. That’s how unserious they’ve become.
And yet, this is the party that wants to see Trump fail—even if it means watching America suffer in the process. They don’t have a plan, they don’t have a vision, and they don’t have a message beyond hoping the country spirals into crisis so they can blame it on Trump.
But here’s their problem: The numbers aren’t on their side.
A Harvard CAPS/Harris poll from February shows Trump’s approval rating at 52%, higher than at any point in his first term. His policies aren’t just surviving—they’re winning. The same poll asked Americans about 11 major Trump initiatives, and only one failed to gain majority support: renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which polled at 39% approval. But beyond that, his policies are overwhelmingly popular:
• 81% support deporting illegal immigrants who commit crimes.
• 76% back Trump’s efforts to eliminate government waste and fraud.
• 76% support stronger border security.
• 70% believe hiring should be based on merit.
• 61% favor reciprocal tariffs in trade policy.
• 60% even approve of DOGE.
These aren’t radical positions. They’re mainstream, common-sense ideas. But if you listen to the media, you’d think this was some extreme right-wing agenda. It’s not.
The same media that pushed climate hysteria for years is now watching support for their alarmism collapse among young people. A Monmouth University poll from April 2024 found that among 18-to-34-year-olds, the group historically most vocal about climate issues, only 50% now consider climate change a “very serious” problem—a 17-point drop in just three years.
And then there’s Ukraine, another issue the press swore was a defining moment for America. When Trump had his Oval Office showdown with Zelensky, the media and European elites predicted disaster. But polls show Americans are losing patience with funding Ukraine’s war. CNN’s Harry Enten pointed out that Biden’s approval rating on Ukraine was 22 points underwater last year, while Trump is currently at +2 approval. The media may still be invested in Ukraine, but Americans? They’ve moved on.
The same goes for the military. The press wants you to believe that Trump’s leadership is “damaging America’s global standing,” yet military recruitment is up for the first time in years. The U.S. Army enlisted 5,877 new recruits in December 2024, the best December in 15 years. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth credits this turnaround to renewed faith in the country’s leadership. Marine veteran John Waters recently told National Review:
“Recruitment starts at the top. If people respect leadership, if their families believe in the direction of the country, you see it reflected in military enlistment.”
So what exactly is the Democrats’ strategy? Are they hoping for an economic downturn just so they can blame Trump? Are they rooting for inflation to stay high? Are they opposing cutting government waste just because Trump proposed it? Are they praying that Americans suddenly turn against securing the border? Do they want the war in Ukraine to drag on forever just to push their agenda?
Even in deep-blue California, where Democrats should have complete control of the message, it’s not working. A Capitol Weekly poll from early February asked California voters if they believe Democrats have successfully made a case against Trump’s administration. 79% said no.
At some point, Americans have to stop believing the media’s version of reality and start trusting what’s right in front of them. The press spent years telling us Kamala Harris was a leader, yet voters rejected her at every turn. They told us Americans were outraged by Trump’s policies, yet his approval is higher than ever. They told us climate change was the defining crisis of our time, yet young people are losing interest. They told us Ukraine was the single most important foreign policy issue, yet Americans are ready to cut off funding.
Trump was right. His policies work. The country is moving in the right direction.
And the only thing standing in the way is a media-driven political party that hates Trump more than they love America.
