🇺🇸 Memorial Day 2026 🇺🇸

Today, the Astatula Police Department joins our community and our nation in honoring the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Memorial Day is more than the unofficial start of summer—it is a day of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude. We pause to honor those heroes who gave their lives defending the freedoms we enjoy each day. Their courage, selflessness, and devotion to duty will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends, attend ceremonies, or display the American flag, let us take a moment to remember the fallen service members and the Gold Star families who continue to carry their legacy forward.

On behalf of the men and women of the Astatula Police Department, we extend our deepest gratitude to all who have served and especially to those who gave everything for our nation.

May we always honor their sacrifice and preserve the freedoms they fought to protect.

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day from the Astatula Police Department! 🌸

Today, we proudly honor and celebrate all mothers — the remarkable women whose love, strength, guidance, and sacrifice help shape our families, our community, and our future.

To the mothers serving in law enforcement, first responders, military, healthcare, education, and every walk of life — thank you for your unwavering dedication both at home and in service to others.

We also recognize the mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, foster mothers, and mother figures whose compassion and care make a lasting impact every day.

Your courage, resilience, and unconditional love do not go unnoticed.

From all of us at the Astatula Police Department, we wish you a safe, joyful, and blessed Mother’s Day filled with love and appreciation. 💙

The Town of Astatula and the Astatula Police Department were honored to stand alongside other Lake County law enforcement agencies, and our incredible community during the annual Back the Blue & Red Walk in support of those who serve and protect. 💙❤️

A truly special highlight of this year’s event was recognizing Devarjaye Daniel as an Honorary Officer of the Astatula Police Department— an inspiring young man whose courage, resilience, and unwavering support for law enforcement continue to touch hearts across the nation.

Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel’s remarkable spirit serves as a powerful reminder of the strength found in hope, perseverance, and community. It was our privilege to welcome him as part of the Astatula Police Department family during this meaningful event.

Chief Hoagland and Mayor Teeters extend their gratitude to all agencies, organizers, and community members who came together to make this day such a success while showing appreciation for our law enforcement officers, firefighters, and first responders.

Together, we remain united in supporting those who dedicate their lives to keeping our communities safe.

The Astatula Police Department would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the many volunteers who have dedicated their time and energy to supporting our community events over the past year. Your commitment, enthusiasm, and willingness to serve have made a lasting impact, and we are truly thankful for each of you.

On Saturday, to recognize Volunteer Appreciation Week, we were honored to host a luncheon at the Community Center to recognize your efforts. It was a wonderful opportunity to come together, reflect on the success of recent events, and celebrate the people who make them possible.

During the luncheon, Chief Hoagland had the privilege of presenting Dawn Teeters, the Town Event Coordinator, with the first-ever “Volunteer of the Year Award.” This recognition highlights her outstanding leadership, dedication, and tireless work in bringing our community together.

From Mayor and Dawn Teeters:
To all of our volunteers—thank you for your continued support and for helping make Astatula such a special place to live. We appreciate everything you do!

Thank you for the time, energy, and care you give so generously to our community. Your willingness to step up, lend a hand, and support one another makes Astatula a stronger, kinder, and more connected place to live.

Whether you’re helping at events, or working behind the scenes, your efforts do not go unnoticed. You are the heart of this town, and your dedication truly makes a difference.

We are grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for all that you do!
