📬 Vote-by-Mail Postcards Are on the Way!

Town Clerk Cheryl Estrella, would like to inform Freetown Voters that the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Office began mailing Vote-by-Mail application postcards today to Massachusetts voters who have not already applied to receive a ballot by mail for the November 3, 2026 State Election.

If you would like to vote by mail, simply complete the application and return it to your local election’s office. If you do not wish to apply for or receive a Vote-by-Mail ballot, no action is required—just disregard the postcard.

Prefer to vote in person? Freetown will offer two full weeks of In-Person Early Voting at the Freetown Police Station leading up to the November 3 election. We will also offer extended hours until 7:00 PM on both Thursdays. 📅 Be on the lookout for the complete In-Person Early Voting schedule soon!

📕 The “Big Red Book” Is Coming! 📕

Town Clerk Cheryl Estrella would like to notify all Freetown voters that the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth’s Office has begun mailing copies of the 2026 Information for Voters Guide, affectionately known as the “Red Book”…or, in this year’s case, the BIG Red Book! At 87 pages, this year’s guide explains all nine ballot questions appearing on the November 3, 2026 State Election ballot.

We encourage every voter to take the time to read the guide, understand the questions, and make an informed decision on each one rather than unintentionally leaving questions blank.

At the back of the book, you’ll find a handy Voter Checklist where you can mark your choices for the ballot questions and candidate races. You may bring the checklist with you when voting on Election Day or during In-Person Early Voting…or take a photo of it beforehand for easy reference.

Just remember: Please take your checklist with you when you leave the voting booth!

🔴🔵 WHICH BALLOT?
If you are an unenrolled voter, you may choose either a Democratic or Republican ballot. If you are already enrolled in a political party, you must vote that party’s ballot.

📌 Freetown has TWO different State Representative districts:

➡️ Precinct 1 – 6th Bristol Representative District
➡️ Precincts 2 & 3 – 8th Bristol Representative District

Because of this, the candidates appearing on your ballot may be different depending on which precinct you live in.

👀 Not sure which ballot has the candidate you’re looking for? No worries! Specimen ballots are available online and are posted on the wall so you can take a look before choosing your ballot.

🪪 Please bring an ID with you! ID is not required for every voter, but having it handy can be helpful if you are listed as “inactive” and can also make it quicker for us to locate you on the voter list. 👋 Come on down, take a seat and cast your ballot — we’re here waiting for you!
