Freetown Parade and Fireworks Committee would like to express their sincere appreciation to everyone that helped make the 4th of July/250th Birthday Celebration such a success! Freetown Police and Fire- thank you! Freetown Highway Dept-thank you! Dave with Flash and Dance-thank you! Dave and Ocean State Pyro-thank you! All of our vendors-thank you! The beautiful tribute for our two Committee members we lost, the fireworks, banner and sentiments were beautiful- thank you! All our volunteers and supporters-thank you ! The people of Freetown and surrounding communities- thank you for supporting us and showing up for Freetown! Let's do it again next year!

Celebrate Independence Day with a stunning fireworks display over the Assonet River! Bring your chairs, blankets, and patriotic spirit for one of Freetown’s favorite annual traditions.

🇺🇸 FREETOWN’S INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE 🇺🇸
📅 DATE: Saturday , July 4, 2025
🕙 TIME: 10:00 AM

🚩 ROUTE: The parade steps off from Ridge Hill Road, travels north on South Main Street, turns left onto Water Street, and ends at Hathaway Park — right through the heart of Assonet Village.

Line the streets of Assonet with friends and family as we celebrate Independence Day in true Freetown fashion. Bring your chairs, wave your flags, and enjoy the sights and sounds as the parade rolls through town.

Our 2026 T-shirt Design Contest winner, Josh Pimental Jr., had the opportunity to present Mr. Ward, FES Principal, with his very own T-shirt! 🎉

You can get your own T-shirt this Sunday at the Strawberry Festival! 🍓🇺🇸

Please congratulate our four 3rd Graders from FES for their winning essays " why I'm proud of my community". They had the honor of reading their essays at the Board of Selectmen Meeting and will be featured in our 4th of July Parade!

FES 3rd grader Josh Pimental Jr won the annual tshirt contest for 2026! Josh drew the winning design on his own. Josh was awarded 100$ and he was given the first tshirt! He will also be riding in the parade on July 4th, make sure you congratulate him! His name is on every tshirt, which will be available to purchase this Sunday, Fathers Day at the Annual Strawberry Festival! Come by to purchase your own tshirt!
Only 5$..grab your piece of history as Freetown Celebrates America's 250!
Once they are gone, thats it, plus who doesn't love Strawberry Shortcake?!

P&F are looking for entries for the 4th of July Parade. For Americas 250th bday the prizes are increased! 1st place -500$, 2nd -$300, 3rd- $200.

It is with profound sadness that we share with you the loss of our dear friend, fellow committee member, chief drummer, and brightener of even the darkest of moments, our beloved Bob Gregory. (A time like this is when we need Bob's positive outlook more than ever!) Please join us in wishing peace, comfort, and love to Judy and Katie.

Freetown is looking good!
Thank you Beaupre Electric, Colin and Nick are the best! If you are a town municipality that received your buntings please hang them to help us decorate beautiful Freetown in anticipation of America's 250 Birthday! We encourage local businesses and homes to decorate for the celebration! ( especially if you are on the parade route!)
