Staying dirty in the drought
If you’ve seen our patrol cars looking a little … dusty this summer, there’s a reason.
The Aspen Police Department has been holding off on washing our patrol vehicles all summer to do our part during the city of Aspen’s Stage 3 drought restrictions, which have been in effect for months. Every drop counts, and we’re proud to conserve water alongside our community and allow certain areas like our parks to get irrigated.
So yes, our cars are dirty. But they’re dirty for a good reason.
Even our patrol cars are doing their part to keep Aspen’s water use down!

We may have just met the newest member of the Aspen Police Department!

This little guy showed up looking sharp, and our officers were more than happy to welcome him to the team. We think he’s got the uniform, the smile and the attitude down already!

Thanks for stopping by, Officer! Keep up the good work — we’ll see you on patrol!

Fast is a choice. So is safe.
With school now in session, it's crucial for parents and students to know their bike and ride at a speed that's safe for them and everyone they'll meet along the way, especially on descents and near intersections. And always, always wear a helmet.

More stoke. Less shock.

E-bikes are zippy, which is part of what makes them so fun. But what feels like a casual cruise to you can feel like a surprise to the runner, dog walker, or rider just around the corner.

Slow down when approaching others and give everyone a moment to enjoy the ride. When in doubt, slow down more.

We're all part of this community, just trying to have a good time and get to where we're going. Slow down. Say hello.
