YOUTH CHESS CAMP

Where : Aspen Recreation Center
Cost: $408 per Session
Ages : 6-12
What: Chess Wizards offers summer vacation camps for children 6-12. We’ve developed an interactive day-camp format which includes all kinds of activities to keep kids both physically and mentally engaged during their time with us. Team chess games, puzzles, skill-building, and team and individual physical games are just some of the ways we integrate the whole person into our camp activities. A sample day might include exploration of a technical chess concept, fun group challenges which hone specific chess thinking patterns, a healthy snack, a mini-tournament, capture-the-flag, and blob tag. Or creating and designing your own chess piece to be used in a practice game with your new friends.

The summer Pass gives you full access to over 30 Fitness classes a week, public skate, indoor climbing walls and towers, cardio equipment and a weight room all Summer long.

Note: Our pool and Aquatic Center will be closed for repairs all June 1 - September 30, 2026.

The Golden Leaf Half Marathon registration opens TOMORROW April 28, 2026 at 10am sharp on UteMountaineer.com.
Cost: $105 + events.com fees

There will be a IN-STORE registration as well and the first 150 participants to register, in person, can get a special discounted price for $80. No call ins, and registration will only be in the name of those who are present. Find more details at the above website.

This year's race will be held on September 26, 2026.

Registration is open now through May 15th for the following Youth Sports Programs at Aspen Recreation.

Youth Summer Baseball / Girls' Summer Softball
Cost: $175
Season : June 1 - July 24
Type : Two Traveling Divisions
Grades : 3&4 - 5&6

Youth T-Ball
Cost: $77
Season: June 1 - July 3
Type: No Travel - Practice one day/week
Grades: Open to Rising Kinder Students

And if you want to give Softball a chance, we have a free registration for our Softball Clinic! Come learn the fundamentals of softball and get excited about a new sport with other girls. Sign up for On, two or all three days!

This Saturday at the ARC, its our annual Easter Egg hunt
Festivities are from 10am - 2pm.

Egg hunt times are run by age groups
10am - ages 0-3
10:30am - ages 4-6
11am - ages 7-10
11:30am - ages 11-14
BYO basket/bag!

The easter bunny will be in attendance.
From 12:30pm - 2pm we will be hosting coloring, crafts and a bunny hop diving competition in the aquatics center.

and NEW THIS YEAR! because Buttermilk's Bacon day was cancelled, we thought we would host our own BACON DAY at the ARC, while supplies last.

Please walk, ride the bus or a bike as parking will be limited!
