Today Ashwaubenon Public Safety Chief Eric Dunning was greeted at his door by a barrage of Public Safety Officers both current and retired. The Officers joined Chief Dunning’s family and friends by bringing all Public Safety apparatus to his house to give him his final ride to the station.
Chief Dunning is retiring after 25 years of dedicated service to our citizens.
Chief Dunning started his career with Ashwaubenon Public Safety on September 12, 1994. He has held the positions of Public Safety Officer, Lieutenant and Commander before taking on the position of Chief in 2007.
Throughout his career, Chief Dunning has represented both the Department and the Village with integrity, class and distinction. Chief Dunning is a graduate of the FBI National Academy Class 237 and he has served on numerous committees over the years. He has been the president of the Brown County Chiefs of Police Association for six years and he served on the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Chiefs of Police Leadership Foundation for three years.
Furthermore, Chief Dunning volunteered countless hours through events including National Night Out, Shop with a Cop, COPS Kids Camp, Goof on a Roof, Special Olympics Torch Run, Lights of Christmas, Fill the Cruiser and his favorite event Santa Ride with the Fire Truck.
The department extends its sincere appreciation to Chief Eric Dunning for devoting his career to the service of others and offers congratulations and best wishes as he moves on to the next chapter in his life.
