We want to take a moment to address concerns regarding our upcoming September 11th event in partnership with Kelli Jo’s Sports Bar.

First and foremost, September 11 is a day that carries profound meaning for our nation, especially those in the fire service and broader public safety profession. We recognize the significance of the lives lost and the sacrifices made by first responders. It is, and always will be, a day of remembrance.

We have heard the concerns shared within our community and want to clarify an important point: firefighters will not be bartending at this event.

The intent of this event is not to celebrate, but to bring our community together in remembrance, reflection, and support of those who serve. It is also an opportunity to connect with the community we are proud to protect every day.

Additionally, this event will serve as a modest fundraiser for the Harrison Township Firefighters Association, which directly supports firefighter initiatives, training opportunities, and community outreach efforts. Like many organizations, we have had to scale back traditional fundraising activities due to rising costs – such as the annual Firefighter Fish Fry – and we are working to find new ways to remain engaged with and supported by the community.

We understand that emotions surrounding this day are strong and deeply personal. Our goal is not to divide, but to provide a space for community connection while honoring the memory of those we lost. Being present in the community we serve is a core part of who we are and that does not stop on difficult days – it becomes more important.

We appreciate the feedback from our residents; however, our commitment remains the same: to honor the memory of those lost, to support one another, and to serve this community with professionalism and integrity.

Small change to our 9/11 Block Party. We have modified the time from 4p-10p. We will be shutting down all outside activities at 10p.
FYI - This is a FREE family friendly event.

Alright folks do we have some exciting news for you. September 11th, 2026 from 4p-11p we will be working with Kelli Jo's Sports Bar. We are planning a Firefighter guest bartend. We have some other exciting things in the works for this event as well, we just need to work out the details. Please stay tuned for additional information.

Our Firefighter Association is selling Mums again this year. We will be selling from October 2nd to the 11th.

Our Firefighter Association is selling raffle tickets. We will only sell 200 tickets. $10.00 a ticket, contact any Harrison Twp. FF to purchases tickets. We will use an electronic drawing system to draw the winners at our annual Open House on October 4th.
