Thank you, Ashtabula County!

Our 4th Annual Resource & Technology Fair was a success! We are grateful to the 43 amazing technology vendors and community partners who joined us this year. Your dedication, knowledge, and commitment to serving our community helped create meaningful opportunities for individuals and families to explore local resources, discover innovative technology, and build valuable connections.

This year's theme, Explore. Connect. Thrive., came to life as community members, providers, families, and advocates gathered together to learn, share, and support one another. Through collaboration and partnership, we continue to promote independence, inclusion, and opportunity for people of all abilities.

A special thank you to every vendor, attendee, volunteer, and partner who helped make this event possible. Together, we are building a stronger, more connected community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

We look forward to continuing these partnerships and seeing the impact these connections create throughout the year!

Our final session of the 6 month Self-Advocacy Leadership Series was all about putting skills into action!

Participants practiced welcoming community members at a resource table and sharing information about the many ways the Ashtabula County Board of Developmental Disabilities supports and serves people with disabilities and their families.

The group also had the opportunity to meet with Manda Jackson, Director of Quality & Community Outreach, to discuss opportunities for continued involvement and ways to stay connected following the completion of the six-month series.

A special thank you to Lisa Fuller Grippi, Brittani Ball, and Haylee Mott for joining us during the activity and helping create a realistic opportunity for participants to practice their outreach and communication skills.

Congratulations to all of our advocates for their commitment, growth, and dedication to becoming stronger self-advocates. We are excited to celebrate their accomplishments tomorrow as they are recognized by our Governing Board.

We are happy to partner with local 4-H members for a meaningful community tradition that celebrates inclusion, learning, and connection in action.

The 4th Annual Hearts of Gold Livestock Show brings together people with developmental disabilities and 4-H youth mentors for a hands-on experience in the show ring. This special event highlights teamwork, confidence-building, and the joy of working with animals in a supportive environment.

This month, we're proud to feature Marquis in our Abilities Enhanced Spotlight!

In this video, you'll get to know Marquis through the activities and interests that bring him joy. From competing in Special Olympics to cheering on his favorite teams, the Cleveland Guardians and Cleveland Cavaliers, Marquis stays active and engaged in his community.

You'll also see his creative side through his artwork and recent participation in the Ashtabula Arts Center's First Annual Talent Show. A devoted fan of Star Wars and Michael Jackson, Marquis embraces every opportunity to pursue his passions.
