Ashland Police Department The Ashland Police Department (APD) is located in the City Hall building at 601 Main Street West, on the third floor.

The Patrol Division, 19 full time officers, provides police services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Administrative services, including copies of reports or forms, are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 4:00 pm, except holidays. SNOW EMERGENCY DECLARED NOW UNTIL TOMORROW MORNING AT 6:00 AM!!

Ashland Public Works has declared a Snow Emergency starting immediately on November, 26th going through 6:00 AM tomorrow, November 27th, 2025.

A Snow Emergency means that all vehicles shall be removed from all Streets, Avenues, and Alleys for the duration of the Emergency to allow Public Works to efficiently clear all thoroughfares in the city. Vehicles remaining on the street are subject to ticketing and towing at the discretion of Public Works and the Ashland Police Department.

City offices will be closed in observance of Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11. Regular business hours will resume on Wednesday, November 12.

The Winter Parking Ordinance (Ch. 504.43) has been delayed by Mayor Matt Mackenzie. This means the parking restrictions that would normally be active under the Winter Parking Ordinance will not go into effect on November 1, 2025.

The Mayor and Public Works have decided to wait until snowfall is in the forecast before activating the ordinance. The City will be posting notice of enforcement of the Winter Parking Ordinance on the City Website and on the City Social Media pages (Facebook & Instagram) in the days leading up to snowfall.

At approximately 11:58am, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, the Ashland Police Department responded to a report of a possible bomb located in a safety deposit box at the Superior Choice Credit Union.
The caller and owner of the safety deposit box, identified as Cory Lavasseur, reported that there was a bomb that was going to explode. Officers immediately responded to the scene, and the building was safely evacuated as a precaution.
The Marathon County Bomb Squad was contacted and responded to assist with the investigation. After a thorough examination, it was determined that no explosive device was present and there was no threat to public safety.
Lavasseur was taken into custody and booked into the Ashland County Jail, pending charges of terrorist threats and bomb scares.
The Ashland Police Department would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance during this incident:
