The 22nd Annual Savannah Volunteer Firefighter Chicken BBQ is quickly approaching, and our firefighters could use a little extra support from the community they faithfully serve.

๐๐ข๐ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ? Firefighter turnout gear must be replaced on a regular schedule to meet state guidelines/requirements, and the cost of keeping our responders properly equipped continues to rise.
Savannah Fire Department is staffed MondayโFriday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. helping ensure faster response times when many volunteers are away at their regular jobs and unable to leave. That coverage matters. Minutes matter.
And when the call comes outside of those staffed hours, our volunteers continue to answer. They leave their families, their meals, their warm beds, and their everyday moments to show up for someone elseโs emergency.
They donโt ask who needs help, they simply go. ๐โค๏ธ
Their service reaches beyond one village, providing support to Savannah and Bailey Lakes, as well as Nankin and surrounding areas through mutual aid.
These men and women show up for our community on some of our hardest days. Now we have an opportunity to show up for them. โค๏ธ
