Ashland Water and Sewer District

Ashland Water and Sewer District Ashland's public water system serves residents in and around the town. Wells are routinely monitored for DEQ and EPA compliance regs.

A municipal sewer system also serves Ashland residents but the outlying areas are served by individual septic systems.

🚫Save The Pipes! Don’t Flush Wipes!🚫

As summer ramps up and school ramps down, remember to be gentle on our shared sewer infrastructure. Just because it says ‘flushable,’ doesn’t mean it is. Lookin at you, Dude Wipes..😡😜

Thank you for your help!

9:30am Update:

The break was pretty severe and was located inside the sawmill compound under a road. We have isolated this line from the distribution system but the break completely drained the system including the storage tank on the hill. Yesterday we had electricians, well techs, and other crews working to reset, test, and reenergize the lines. Folks should start seeing water flowing by noon today. DEQ and county sanitation will help to test water and commissioners are working to deliver bottled water today. Our low-level indicator lights have turned off which is a good sign. St Labre is also working to speed up our refill process by adding water to our clear-well. There’s a small army of volunteers and professional crews on scene working feverishly to restore water. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding. We are in a Boil Order status for the next week. 🙏

5:30pm Update: The aquifers, wells, and pumps haveve been inspected by Higgins out of Miles City and are found to be working properly. Crews are now turning their attention to the lines that feed the town and storage tank behind the Heritage Center. Water is traveling to the town but there’s an inicator of a large leak somewhere. (Water is being used faster than it can fill) For folks getting water, please note it is not approved for drinking at this time)

12:30pm Update: The issue is identified as a supply issue with the aquifer wells. Well technicians are contacted and en route this afternoon. Thank you for your patience.

9:00am Update: Electricians are arriving soon. We believe an electrical component is responsible for the non communication between the aquifer pumps and the main storage tank. Crews are working hard to restore water and will update as soon as they can.
