The Ashland Fire Department is teaming up with River Cities Harvest for a local food drive. Items needed include canned goods like meats, fruits, and vegetables; protein or fruit bars; dried cereal or granola; peanut butter; and ready-to-eat crackers.
Items may be dropped off at the Central Station located at 1021 Carter Avenue, Ashland for the next two weeks. A bin is located in the front lobby for your convenience.

Hunger Knows No Holiday!

Ashland Community Kitchen will be closed on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, but our community will still have access to food thanks to the Ashland Rotary

Your donations will help provide food to individuals and families in our community who are facing food insecurity. Every donation makes a difference and helps us continue our mission.

Battle of the Bands Food Drive

Instructions for Participating Organizations

Thank you for supporting the Battle of the Bands Food Drive between the Ashland and Boyd County marching bands! Your organization can help turn this friendly rivalry into a big impact for local families.

How to Participate

1. Choose the school you want to support:
Ashland or Boyd County.
2. Set up a collection box:
Place a sturdy donation box in your lobby or another visible area.
3. Decorate the box:
Display the logo and colors of the school your organization is supporting. Clearly label it:
Battle of the Bands Food Drive Donations
4. Promote the food drive:
Encourage employees, customers, visitors, and community members to donate canned food and other nonperishable items.
5. Arrange pickup and weighing:
When your box is full—or when your collection is complete—notify a participating student or contact United Way of Northeast Kentucky. We will arrange to pick up and weigh the donations so they can be credited to your chosen school.

Collection Dates

📅 September 21–October 2

The winning school will be announced October 9 at the Ashland vs. Boyd County varsity football game.

Most-Needed Items

• Canned meats
• Canned soups
• Cereal
• Rice and beans
• Peanut butter
• Macaroni and cheese
• Pasta and pasta sauce
• Other unopened, unexpired, nonperishable foods

Please do not donate opened, expired, damaged, or perishable items.

All donations will remain in our community and benefit the Ashland and Boyd County Family Resource Youth Service Centers, Hillcrest Bruce Mission, and Ashland Community Kitchen.

The Great Bowls of Fire Chili Fest returns October 17 at Camp Landing Entertainment District, and this year we’re bringing back something we haven’t done in a while — a Car Show!

Bring your ride, bring your friends, and enjoy a day of chili, cars, community, and fun while supporting Ashland Community Kitchen.

Foot health is important to overall health. Part of Good foot health is clean socks, which we try to provide to all of our clients.

How can you help? Donating socks to the Dressing Room allows us to get these needed items to our clients.
