Hey kids!
Anna is back in the atmosphere, Drops of Jupiter in her hair, (hey-eey-eeyea--ay), wondering if the best soy latte she has ever had is still available at at MIX on the Plaza, or if one can still order the 'Anna Eats Ashland Zombie Hybrid' cocktail at Alchemy Restaurant and Bar (at one time holding the dubious honor of being the most expensive cocktail in all of Ashlandistan.;;-) ) and what ELSE has been going on in the food and wine world in Ashland since we've been away? Any new favorites to report? And who else have we sadly let go out of business? We hear Hither is no more, which makes us weep - we will indeed miss their herbed scrambled eggs on toast and perfect cappuccinos; while RAW, apparently, has gone the way of so many other of our favorite eateries in Ashland: we will SO miss all of their amazing salads and of course the VERTICAL juice! (Craving it right now, in fact)
Can anyone tell us if the Ashland Culinary Festival is still a thing around the end of October / Beginning of November? And the pre-Easter Oregon Chocolate Festival (the first-born child of the amazingly talented Karolina Lavagnino)? Also, Greenleaf Restaurant is on a new incarnation, correct? Please do tell us that Brothers is still around as well, and
MAS, and Hearsay Restaurant, Lounge, & Garden, and Larks - Home Kitchen Cuisine Restaurant?? And what is the current status of The Black Sheep?
New personal issues for Anna that she would also love your assistance with: While Wheelchair Accessiblity is a challenge everywhere, Ashland has a particular handicap to overcome (you see what we did there? ;-) )in that getting in / maneuvering around inside many of Ashlands more ancient structures, can at times be flat-out impossible.
It's funny how having to experience it personally can shed an entirely different light on 'challenges', forcing you to notice them. That being said, Any personal anecdotes - (either on the page or in Anna's private message box) involving eateries that are a piece of cake to get into would warm Annas' little cockles - . Please also include tales of places that used to be impossible but have stepped up to upgrade, so we can all publicly praise them. :-)
