It was our pleasure to welcome the one and only Tim Irr, everyone's favorite news anchor from WSAZ, to a packed Ashland Rotary today.

Tim was an outstanding guest speaker, sharing great stories from his years in local journalism and offering thoughtful insight into the important role local media plays in bringing communities together. In a world that often feels divided, it was a refreshing reminder of how trusted local voices help inform, connect, and strengthen the places we call home.

Thank you, Tim, for spending part of your day with us and for all you do for the Tri-State. You certainly didn't disappoint!

In observance of Memorial Day, there will be no meeting this week as we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

A few Memorial Day facts:
• Memorial Day was originally known as “Decoration Day” after the Civil War.
• The holiday became an official federal holiday in 1971.
• More than 25 places across the U.S. claim to be the birthplace of Memorial Day.
• At 3:00 PM local time on Memorial Day, Americans are encouraged to observe a National Moment of Remembrance.

Annual community event for the City helping 30 homeowners repair & maintain properties -
The club gathered at Central Park to start - t shirts, breakfast & drinks to go start the day !!

Club President Stephan Harris accepted the award for the 5 star club designation at the Rotary District 6740 Conference over the weekend.

It reads,
“5 Star Club
Award presented to The Rotary Club of Ashland
for achieving the highest Standards of Excellence within the Five Avenues of Service
2025-2026”.
