Due to a family emergency I am unable to be in for the rest of the week. You can still pick up Robin Greenfield's Food Freedom and Be the Change at the Cultural and Education Center. They are on top of the book return box, next to the free bookshelf (take some more books while you're at it). Currently planning on being back in on Tuesday to catch up on things but will update as needed.

First of the 3-Part Robin Greenfield series starts next week on Wednesday, Sept. 9th from 7-8:30pm with a Presentation on foraging all of his food and medicine for the past year! Thanks to all our partners Bad River Food Sovereignty , Bay Area Film Society, Mashkiiziibii Agindaasoowigamig - Bad River Library, Friends of the Vaughn Public Library and League of Women Voters' of Ashland and Bayfield Counties.

September is Library Card Sign Up Month!
It is super easy to get a Bad River Library card. You can come in to give a name and email, or just email [email protected] with your name.
Once you are in the system, you can have a physical card (it is a piece of paper with a barcode, this is a small library), and you can use that email to access our catalog. Just go to https://www.libib.com/u/badriverlibrary and set a password. You can search, place holds on items, and renew your checkouts.

9/8, open 11AM-5PM
- For International Literacy Day we are having a book swap! Bring in a book you liked (or a book you didn't like at all, or a book you never read and probably won't get around to) and swap, or just come pick up a free book.

9/9, open 11AM-5PM
- PLUS come to the Vaughn Library at 6PM, with the Food Freedom presentation starting at 7PM

9/10, open 11AM-5PM
- For Sewing Machine Day, it's a special crafternoon. Bring something to mend, or just hang out with the collage and jewelery making supplies.

9/11, open 11AM-5PM

9/12, open 10AM-1PM
- For Video Games Day, come try Reclaim! Azhe-Giiwewining! a point-and-click adventure in Ojibwemowin

Summer Reading Update:

268 books submitted for the summer (howah!)

Our three winners are Paula, Tia, and Lea.

If your child has not brought their list by, they can still come claim prizes as long as the books were completed by 8/31. All adult participants are also welcome to claim a notebook!

September Calendar!
To accommodate the weekend and some of the longer weekday hours, the library will be closed Mondays in September. It's also a conference month, and the building will be sans librarian for a week.
But there is still plenty to do! Come pick up Robin Greenfield's books for kids and adults anytime during open hours, bring some books to swap for International Literacy Day, some mending to complete on Sewing Machine Day, and don't even get me started on Talk Like a Pirate Day.
