Our July Selection is The Grass Dancer by Mona Susan Power (originally published in 1994 as The Grass Dancer by Susan Power).
The meeting is scheduled for July 25 at 10am.

You can email [email protected] to reserve your own copy, or just drop by the library to pick it up (fcfs). If we have more interest than books, we will check out copies from interlibrary loan to lend out!

June 13th: there will be dedicated sewing time, so drop in with some mending or another small project you've been meaning to get around to finishing. I personally will be fixing some jeans.

Aaniin! The library will be closing at 4:30 today, and the librarian will be out for the next four business days. We will return to normal operating hours (11-5 on weekdays, 10-1 on most Saturdays) on Wednesday, June 3rd. Miigwech!

Aaniin! The Bad River Library Facebook is back in action.

We are preparing for June Book Club, and have a few more spots available. This month is Hole in the Sky by Daniel H. Wilson:

Welcome Della!

Meet Della Keahna, our new librarian! Della is a White Earth Ojibwe citizen and Meskwaki descendant. They majored in Environment and Sustainability at Cornell University and received minors in Indigenous Studies and Fashion Studies. They earned a Master of Library and Information Science at the University of Washington, where their capstone focused on Anishinaabe literature and organization. They are also an artist and musician and are very excited to be moving here with their husband. Among other pursuits, Della beads, knits, sews, and dances jingle. Please stop by our library in the Cultural and Education Center at 72720 Maple Street to meet Della. Library hours are still in flux as they settle in and get things ready for patrons, but you are always welcome to check out books during regular building hours Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30.

Just wanted to give a friendly reminder that if you or your children utilize the library space (and please do!)...

Please clean up after yourselves!

It is becoming more frequent that I'm finding food wrappers, papers, candy, etc., books removed and then splayed across different areas, and furniture all over the place.

The library is a communal space, so please help it stay clean and safe for everyone to use! 🙂
