Veterans and Public Activities

The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, war-time veterans organization, devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is a not-for-profit community-service organization which now numbers nearly 3 million members, men and women, in nearly 15,000 American Legion posts worldwide.

We appreciate everyone’s concern and want to clear up some confusion surrounding this situation. The vendor mentioned in this post specifically requested that same booth location on the stage — the very same spot he used at our last show. Our team offered assistance to help him access the area and made arrangements to ensure he could participate comfortably. The ramp that is in the building we use for this event was made for getting equipment on a small stage and is not intended for safe public use.

We’ve proudly welcomed and accommodated vendors with disabilities at every show and will always do everything possible to make sure everyone can safely take part. We value all our vendors and guests and take accessibility and respect very seriously.

If anyone has questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the Ashland American Legion directly so we can address them properly.

Big news from out of today's National Executive Committee meeting.
As an associate sponsor of “America’s Game,” The American Legion is awarding an opportunity for Legionnaires to attend the Army-Navy Football Game on Dec. 13 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Md. Eight winners will receive two tickets.
Here’s how to win.
The top three Legionnaires who recruit a minimum of three new members between Oct. 1 through Nov. 11 will each receive two tickets to the game.
· A new member is an eligible veteran joining for the 2026 membership year who was not a member of The American Legion during the 2025 membership year.
· Paid transfers do not count as new members.
· New Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion members do not count toward this incentive.
