Join us in welcoming our new summer staff, Edith!

Hello! My name is Edith and I am the Conservation Technician Intern for the 2026 field season. I am currently a junior at UW-Madison working to earn an accredited bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture. After graduation, I intend to serve abroad in the Peace Corps. With the skills gained through these experiences, I plan to balance human use with the protection of natural systems and resources in the field of environmental conservation. My dream job is to help design national parks! I spend my free time outside: skiing, hiking, fishing, paddling, biking, and more. I can’t wait to learn more about conservation in Ashland County and to be a part of the Land and Water Crew!

Come see our Land and Water Crew THIS SATURDAY, June 6th, for Kids Fishing Day at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center. We will have a booth set up on Invasive Species!

Join us this Saturday for Kids Fishing Day! Register upon arrival 9:00am-Noon. This FREE event is full of family fun. Learn about fish, where they live, how to catch them, and how to cast. Fishing rods and bait are provided. Drawings & prizes throughout the event!

Garlic Mustard Galore!
After assisting with the hand pull in Mellen, the Land and Water Crew jumped on an opportunity to assist the Northwoods Cooperative W**d Management Area near Bay City Creek later that week! Eager School District of Ashland WATERS club students joined in as well!
