To the Residents of Ashland:
Though the results didn’t go our way this time, I want to sincerely thank everyone who supported my campaign for Alderman in Ward 1. With a final vote of 65 to 58, it was a close race—and I’m deeply grateful to each of the 58 residents who put their trust in me.
Turnout in this election was just 29% of what it was last year, but every vote still mattered, and I’m proud of the campaign we ran—built on real conversations, practical ideas, and a vision for moving Ashland forward.
I want to congratulate Kent Dunwiddie on his victory. He ran a spirited, thoughtful campaign and brings a strong background in public service. I respect his dedication to Ashland and wish him the best as he takes on this role.
This was my fifth consecutive campaign—three for alderman, two for mayor—and while this race wasn’t the win we hoped for, it shows we’re closing the gap. When I ran for mayor previously, I lost 401 to 498. That margin is shrinking, and the momentum we’ve built this year is real. I’m already preparing for another run for mayor in 2026, because I believe Ashland needs steady, principled leadership that promotes conservative values, puts families first, supports small businesses, and brings common sense back to City Hall.
To every volunteer, voter, and supporter: thank you. Your encouragement, your time, and your belief in what we’re building mean more than I can say. I’ll continue fighting for smart development policies, fiscal responsibility, and preserving the character and charm that make Ashland feel like home.
This chapter may be closing—but the story isn’t over. We’re just getting started.
Thank you, Ashland.
