Fraud Alert: In this crazy time we live in, I would like to take a minute to talk to you about fraud, it is real and it doesn’t just happen in big city California or New York!! Fortunately, to my knowledge there have been no claims of property fraud, nor arrests in Cheatham County, as of this date. There have been arrests in the state of Tennessee, as well as many others!
If you are a landowner in Cheatham County, please seriously consider this service. It is a FREE service, unlike some advertisements you see on television. It is called mylandalert.com. It is an alert system. It will NOT prevent fraud. It will alert you, if you are signed up, and anything is recorded in our office.
•Access mylandalert.com
•Put a valid email address and password.
(Text alerts will be available soon)
•Every single email submitted will be vetted.
•You will receive an email back saying your email has been approved.
•Go back to mylandalert.com, enter your approved email address and password. •Follow the prompts to enter your information at that time.
If anyone ever records a document either in person or electronically in the Cheatham County Register of Deeds office, you will receive an email alert as to when and what the document was that was recorded. If you know about the document that was recorded, you do nothing. If you did not authorize it, call our office, chances are good a crime has been committed against you. The commercials on television would have you to believe they “can lock your land title.” They cannot! I, as Register of Deeds, cannot lock anyone’s title. It, within itself, is a scam to get your hard earned money!
**Again, mylandalert.com is a
FREE SERVICE**
Please contact me with any questions. Let’s protect Cheatham County and work together to fight fraudulent acts from happening!
