With Summerfest beginning tonight, we want to make the public aware of the traffic pattern for exiting the park on Friday and Saturday nights. We will turn all traffic right from the park onto TN Waltz Pkwy to keep the flow of traffic moving and get everyone out of the park safely and efficiently. Enjoy all the things going on this week and be safe!

The Police Department has recently installed a radar speed sign in the community as part of our ongoing traffic calming efforts. This sign was fully funded by a TN Highway Safety Office grant for approximately $5,000. We plan on purchasing more in the future as we apply for another grant in the next fiscal year.

The sign is designed to display drivers’ speeds in real time and encourage motorists to slow down and stay aware while traveling through residential and high-traffic areas.

Our goal is to improve safety for everyone — including drivers, pedestrians, and families in the area.
This device is not intended to inconvenience motorists, but rather to promote safer driving habits and help reduce speeding concerns reported by residents.

We appreciate the community’s support as we continue working to keep our roads safe.

The Tennessee Highway Safety Office has provided us with yard signs to promote traffic safety. If you would like one for your yard or business, as long as you are within our city limits, please contact Sgt. Duncan and she will get you taken care of!

These are the three signs we currently have available to choose from, however the THSO offers other ones as well related to distracted driving and bike and pedestrian safety, that we can get for you.

Call 615-792-5618 and speak with Sgt. Duncan or you can email your request to [email protected]
