The Cheatham County Central High School Homecoming Parade will be held on Thursday, September 17, beginning at 4:15 p.m. With a bonfire to follow right after at Riverbluff Park

Traffic on Main Street in downtown Ashland City will be affected for a brief period during the parade.

Please plan accordingly and allow extra time if you need to travel through downtown.

Today, the Town of Ashland City joins communities across our nation in remembering the lives lost and forever changed by the tragic events of September 11, 2001.

On this 25th anniversary, we pause to honor the nearly 3,000 innocent victims, the courageous first responders 🚒🚔🚑 who ran toward danger, the members of our military 🇺🇸 who served in the years that followed, and the families who continue to carry the weight of that day.

While 25 years have passed, we will never forget the courage, sacrifice, resilience, and unity that emerged from one of our nation's darkest moments. ❤️🤍💙 September 11 serves as a reminder of the strength of the American spirit and the importance of coming together in times of adversity.

As we remember those we lost, let us also reflect on the values that unite us as a community and as a nation: service, compassion, patriotism, and hope. ⭐

By Proclamation and Resolution Mayor Greer and the Ashland City City Council have declared September 2026 and every September thereafter as Imagination Library Month in the Town of Ashland City. This will coincide with September being National Literacy Month in the United States.

The gift of reading can open a child’s imagination to a lifetime of discovery, dreams, and learning.

🎉⚾️Ashland City Mayor Gerald Greer and the City Council recognized two Ashland City baseball teams at tonight’s meeting for their successful 2026 seasons.🎉⚾️

The Ashland City Diamond Youth Baseball 10U and 12U All-Stars both won the district championship and advanced to the state tournament.

The teams represented Ashland City with pride, sportsmanship and dedication throughout the season. Their hard work and commitment served as a great reflection of our community, and we congratulate these young athletes and their coaches on an outstanding year.✨⚾️🌟

🎉It was an exciting evening at the Ashland City Council meeting as three council members took the oath of office and one outgoing member was recognized for his service to the community.🎉

City Judge Patrick Smith administered the oath of office to Rick Johnson, Kevin Thompson and Tim Adkins.

Johnson, a former longtime City Council member and mayor, will represent Ward One. Thompson was sworn in to begin his second term representing Ward Three, while Adkins will begin his third term serving Ward Two.

The council also took time to honor outgoing Ward One Council member Tony Young for his four years of dedicated service to the city. Tuesday's meeting marked his final official council meeting.

Additionally, Ward Three Council member Michael Smith was named vice mayor, a position that is appointed by the council every two years.

Congratulations to all those taking on the responsibility of serving our city! 🙌🌟

🚒❤️ Teaching Lifesaving Skills at Cheatham Middle School! ❤️🚒

The Ashland City Fire Department recently had the opportunity to work with staff at Cheatham Middle School, providing CPR training and helping reinforce the importance of being prepared to respond during a medical emergency.

Learning CPR and how to properly use an AED can make a critical difference when every second counts. We are proud to support efforts that help make our schools safer and better prepared for emergencies.

We always enjoy working with the Cheatham County School System and appreciate the strong partnership we share in promoting safety, preparedness, and education throughout our community.

Thank you to Cheatham Middle School for allowing us to be a part of this valuable training experience!
