Waterfall Wednesday ✨

📍Tamanawas Falls - Mount Hood National Forest,🌳 Oregon

📸 October 2025

Tamanawas Falls is a 100-foot curtain of water 💦 dropping over a basalt cliff into a lush, mossy canyon. The hike 🥾 follows Cold Spring Creek through shaded forest 🌳 before opening to the roar and mist of this dramatic ⛰️ Mount Hood waterfall.

✅ Key Hike Facts
•Trail type: ↔️Out-and-back
•Round-trip distance: 🔁~ 3.3–4.0 miles depending on route.
•Elevation gain: 📈 550–600 ft
•Trail difficulty: Generally rated easy to moderate. The 🧭 trail is mostly gentle, but there are some sections with rocky terrain and a small “rock-slide / boulder” 🪨 area that can be slippery or awkward.
•Run time ⏰ for most hikers: ~ 1.5–2 hours round-trip, depending on pace and how long you linger at the falls.

📍South Falls - Trail of Ten Falls 💦 @ Silver Falls State Park - Sublimity, Oregon

A 177-foot curtain of water you can actually walk behind, framed by mossy cliffs and forest magic.🌿Even more stunning with fall colors making the whole scene picture-perfect. 🍂

The Trail of Ten Falls was misty 🌫️ & magical 💫, walk-behind the waterfall experience! 💦 🚘It’s so close to Portland! We stopped and hiked before catching our flight back to the East Coast. ✈️

📍Nisqually River & Mount Rainier - Mount Rainier National Park 🏞️

•Mount Rainier 🏔️ was graciously showing out! 🌟 This shot was taken while crossing the Nisqually River along the Carter Falls trail. Just minutes later, the mountain vanished behind the clouds. ☁️ Lucky timing for sure! 🍀

A breathtaking pit stop. ✨

📍Narada Falls - Mount Rainier National Park, Washington 🏞️

•One of the most beautiful stops in the park. 🛑 Cascading waterfalls 💦 drop 176 feet down the moss-covered rocky cliff. 🪨

•Requires no hiking 🥾, top of the waterfall can be seen from the parking lot. 🅿️ There is a 0.2mile roundtrip trail if you want to hike to the viewpoint near the bottom of the falls.

Roadside waterfalls wonder. 🚘

📍Christine Falls - Mount Rainier National Park, Washington 🏞️

•Beautiful cascading waterfalls tumbling gracefully under a storybook stone bridge 💦, located 4 miles east of Longmire. 🧭

•Requires no hike! It is only a short walk from the pullout. Be aware that parking 🅿️ is limited and for everyone’s safety, do not walk or stop your car on the bridge.

Life elevated. ☁️

📍Canyon Overlook Trail - Zion National Park, Utah 🏞️

•The views from Canyon Overlook Trail 🥾 in Zion are next-level—just a short 1 mile hike and you’re rewarded with sweeping vistas of cliffs, canyons, and the valley floor that look straight out of a painting. 🖼️Incredible views! 🌟 But I must say, watch out for narrow ledges! ⚠️

•The trailhead is at the exit of the Mount Carmel Highway Tunnel. 🛣️ Parking is very limited and gets full quickly especially on peak times. It is not accessible by the Zion Shuttle. 🚘

•Just a short drive from Las Vegas, Zion National Park feels like stepping into another world. 🌎 The jaw-dropping views will make the quick trip totally worth it! ✨
