The Ashford Police Department had a great time visiting Funshine School and spending time with the wonderful little boys and girls! Our goal was to help children understand that police officers are their friends and that we are always here to help keep them safe.

We talked with the kids about what to do if they ever need help and reminded them that if there is an emergency, they can dial 911 and their friends from the police department will come to help.

Chief Anderson and Officer Clifford Wesley attended the visit, took pictures with the kids by the patrol vehicle (see photos below 📸), and enjoyed lots of smiles and excitement. Each child also received a goodie bag from the Ashford Police Department that included a water bottle and a Frisbee.

Thank you to Funshine School for welcoming us and allowing us to be part of such a positive experience. Building trust with our youth is an important part of serving our community! 💙🚓

Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Dr. King’s message of love, service, justice, and unity continues to inspire us to treat one another with dignity and respect. His vision reminds us that true strength is found in compassion, understanding, and standing together as a community.

As we reflect on his words and actions, the Ashford Police Department remains committed to serving our community with integrity, fairness, and respect for all.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Happy MLK Day.
Let us continue to serve, uplift, and love one another.

Hello, Ashford family!

We wanted to share a quick and helpful update with you. New permanent No Parking signs have been placed at the corner of Church Street and North Broadway. This area is currently under construction as we work on installing new sidewalks to make our downtown safer and more enjoyable for everyone.

To help keep things running smoothly, we kindly ask that you follow the new parking rules in this area. We truly appreciate your understanding as these improvements take place.

We’d also love to remind you that our new parking lot right next to this location is now open and ready for you to use whenever you’re visiting downtown.

Thank you for your patience, cooperation, and for being such a supportive community. We’re grateful for each of you!

With care,
Your Ashford Police Department

As part of our commitment to protecting and supporting every member of our community, the Ashford Police Department is now offering free “Occupant with Autism” vehicle stickers to families and caregivers.

This helps ensure a more understanding, patient, and informed response.

Location: 303 Adams Street, Ashford, AL
Cost:Free of charge

Please place the sticker in the lower back window on the passenger side of your vehicle.

If you have any questions about these stickers, please call 334-899-1200 or 334-899-3366

Let’s continue working together to build a safer, more inclusive community for everyone. 💙

Congratulations to all.

The Ashford Police Department is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Homicide Investigation Class by several of our dedicated officers. This advanced training course was conducted to enhance investigative skills, evidence handling, case management, and interviewing techniques related to homicide and other major crimes.

Through this program, our officers have demonstrated a strong commitment to professional development and excellence in law enforcement practices. Their participation ensures that our department remains at the forefront of investigative standards and reflects our ongoing efforts to better serve the Ashford community.

We congratulate Officer Christian Bartley, Lieutenant Larry Flowers, Officer Brandon Watson and Officer Clifford Wesley on their achievement and thank the instructors and training coordinators who made this opportunity possible.

📚🚸 School Starts Back Tomorrow! 🚸📚
Tomorrow is the first day back to school for our students! Let’s work together to keep them safe:
• Slow down in school zones – speed limits are strictly enforced.
• Watch for school buses – they make frequent stops to load and unload children.
• Never pass a bus when the stop arm is out and red lights are flashing.
• Leave home a little earlier to avoid rushing and keep our roads safe.
The Ashford Police Department will have an increased presence in the area to ensure everyone’s safety. Let’s make this school year a safe and happy one for all! 💛🖤
