Today we honor American workers and the unions who struggled, fought, and earned greater dignity, fairness, safety, and opportunity in the workplace. 

The struggle continues. Workers and small business owners alike are feeling the squeeze of corporate greed and corruption. We must stand together to fight for a brighter future for our families. 

As a small business owner, I am proud to honor the principle of economic justice for all. 

All people deserve to be valued for their work, to have a voice in their workplace, and to be treated with dignity and respect. I support workers and the right of people to organize together to advocate for themselves and to build power. 

I’m grateful for our own small but mighty team of workers, artists, craftspeople, and community partners whose hands and talents inspire me every single day.

Every person here showed up because they believe in an Asheville that works for the people who keep it running. That is what this campaign has always been about.

The servers, the artists, the contractors, the caregivers, the small business owners. You are the heartbeat of this city and you showed up for each other. Thank you for showing up for us too.

Thank you to the Transgender Caucus of the NCDP for endorsing my candidacy for Asheville City Council.

I’m proud to be running as a nonbinary candidate. Representation matters because it broadens whose voices are heard and whose lived experience is reflected in public policy. Our communities are strongest when we build systems that allow everyone to thrive and protect equal rights for all. I’m proud to do this work alongside the incredible leaders at the TCNCDP.

On August 11th we are hosting an evening to celebrate Jeffrey Burroughs on the balcony at The Venue, 21 North Market Street, at 5:30pm, and it is going to be a special one.

This campaign has always run on people who believe Asheville can be more affordable, more resilient, and more creative than ever.
