The 105th Military Police Battalion, North Carolina Army National Guard was constituted 25 January 1974 in the North Carolina Army National Guard as Detachment 1, 449th Aviation Company. It was later organized and Federally recognized 15 February 1974 at Greensboro and reorganized and redesignated 1 September 1978 as Detachment 1, Company D, 28th Aviation Battalion, an element of the 28th Infantry

Division. The Battalion converted and redesignated 1 October 1978 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 130th Signal Battalion, and relieved from assignment to the 28th Infantry Division

The 105th MP BN's location changed 1 October 1991 to Asheville where is was converted and redesignated 1 October 1997 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 730th Support Battalion and later converted and redesignated 1 October 1999 as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 730th Quartermaster Battalion. Finally, the BN was converted and redesignated 1 October 2003 as Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 105th Military Police Battalion

Ordered into active Federal service 15 August 2004 at Asheville; relieved from active Federal service 24 October 2005 and reverted to state control

Ordered into active Federal service 23 February 2010 at Asheville; relieved from active Federal service 13 February 2011 and reverted to state control
