Thank you to the many Rotary Club of Asheville members who volunteered at GrindFest today!

From helping vendors and organizations get set up to welcoming attendees and supporting the event throughout the morning, our Rotarians were proud to be part of another successful community event.

We are grateful for every member who gave their time and energy in support of our community and the Rotary motto, Service Above Self.

Thank you K2 Services for being a corporate sponsor of the Rotary Club of Asheville! Thanks to incredible
corporate sponsors, we are able to fund projects like rebuilding the pollinator garden at Carrier
Park, originally built by our Club prior to Hurricane Helene.

Thanks to $2,000 from our Club Foundation and a $3,000 grant from the NC Native Plant
Society, it has now been fully restored. Volunteers cleared invasive species and planted over 150 native plants. Native pollinator gardens are more than beautiful—they’re vital to the survival of local bees, butterflies, and other pollinators whose populations are in decline.

Over the past three years, The Rotary Club of Asheville has funded $9,000 in microloans through our partner TPC Global. One recipient purchased a buffalo and a cow, now providing her family with $350 per month in milk income. Another was able to buy a rickshaw that raises income to support the household so her husband no longer needs to make the dangerous trip to India for work.

Each year, our Club Foundation contributes $5,000 to support this vital work. With the 2-1 matching funds from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundations, that impact grows to $15,000 annually.

While federal McKinney-Vento funds support
both Asheville City and Buncombe County Schools, they can’t always be accessed quickly in
emergencies. To help bridge that gap, our Club Foundation donated $3,000 this year—divided equally among the Asheville City Schools Foundation, the Buncombe County Schools Foundation, and the
Verner Center for Early Learning—to ensure rapid assistance for children and families in
crisis.

A crisp winter morning in Pisgah National Forest, great people, and meaningful work.
Today, Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Asheville and the Rotary Breakfast Club partnered with the Pisgah Conservancy to help restore and care for trails and campsites impacted by Hurricane Helene.
Through a Rotary Zone Grant, we were proud to help fund essential equipment now being used in the field—supporting long-term recovery across more than 400 miles of trails in the Pisgah Ranger District.
This is what Rotary looks like: showing up, working together, and putting a few more drops in the bucket every time.
