From our Seventh Grade Math/Science Lead's facebook:
"Super proud teacher moment today. Coffee on 7th - the coffee shop business my students started this year - had their first professional, public gig today. They catered an espresso bar, making handcrafted beverages to order for all of the participants at a conference. They made all the syrups and flavors from scratch as well. The signature beverage they came up with for the event is a blueberry lavender honey latte they named Appalachian Strong in honor of the resiliency of WNC post- Helene.
To top it all off, three of the students were asked to present to all attendees on a student panel about what is working well and what can be improved in regards to school culture. They were the only middle schoolers on the panel, and their contributions were mature, deep, well-thought out, and heartfelt.
I am one lucky teacher to get to work with these incredible humans!"
