In order to mitigate the threat of non-native invasive plant species we specialize in mec

hanical removal and eco-friendly herbicide cocktails. My name is Daniel McLendon, and I'd love to come by for a free consultation. Call me anytime, (704) 661-1243

Autumn Olive (elaeagnus umbellata), a pesky common fast growing exotic invasive native to Asia. Due to its nature of vigorous growth, production of viable seed and capacity to throw root sprouts, the Autumn Olive is frequently used to "revegetate" retired coal strip mines. It's unfortunate on many levels that this is considered an acceptable plant used to revegetate an already compromised piece of land. Due to its stubborn nature to resist low doses of herbicide, 25% Garlon-4 mixed with 75% Methylated Seed Oil (MSO) used liberally as a basal application usually does the job to effectively to kill the plant. Don't let this tree overtake our land!!

This is a video I shot last summer while packing in herbicide onto the Appalachian Trail in the Roan Mountain area. A lot of Multaflora Rose died that day.

This may not pertain to the mass killing of exotic invasive flora, but coming across wild elk in their natural habitat is quite a sight.
