💙 A Request for Support from the Visiting Angels Family 💙

One of our dedicated caregivers, Jasmine, is facing an incredibly difficult time. She is currently in Charlotte by her son's side as he battles a serious heart condition.

To help ease some of the financial burden while Jasmine remains with her son, a GoFundMe has been created on her behalf.

Did you know that regular physical activity can help reduce feelings of anxiety and depression in older adults? The best part? It does not have to be intense to make a real difference!

Here are some gentle, low-impact exercises that are great for seniors:

The truth is, elder abuse does not always look the way people expect it to. It is not always obvious. It does not always happen in a facility. And the people experiencing it are often too scared, too isolated, or too dependent on their abuser to say a word.

That silence is exactly why today matters.

Here are some statistics that stopped us in our tracks:
🔹 1 in 10 older adults experiences some form of elder abuse each year
🔹 An estimated 5 million older Americans are abused, neglected, or exploited every single year
🔹 Only 1 in 24 cases ever gets reported
🔹 Seniors who experience abuse are 2.5 times more likely to die prematurely than those who do not

At Visiting Angels Serving Asheville, Hendersonville, Black Mountain, Weaverville, Waynesville, and the Surrounding Areas, we're proud to support veterans and their families through personalized care that helps seniors remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home.

Today, we recognize the women whose service helped shape our nation and thank them for all they have given.
