Class of 2026, you did it! For some of you, this journey started all the way back in 5th grade, and watching each of you grow into the remarkable young adults you are today has been one of our greatest joys.

The adventures ahead are bright, and we can't wait to see the good you bring to this world. The path won't always be straightforward, but when things are uncertain, remember this: you have learned the skills to persist, the curiosity to ask questions and continue growing, and the confidence to take action and make the world around you a better place. We will miss you but are so excited to see where your journey leads next. Congratulations, Class of 2026. Now go do great things!

Happy last day of school!

You bring so much joy, personality, fun, and hard work to our community every day. As you get ready to roll into summer, we thought it was the perfect time to roll out these photos from the Anything That Rolls Parade.

We'll miss seeing you over break, but we can't wait to hear about your adventures.

FSI's Outdoor Club spent the weekend camping near Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest and Lake Santeetlah, exploring old-growth forests, spotting wildlife, and enjoying the outdoors.

Students encountered a rattlesnake, snails, toads, and salamanders along the way. They braved the rain, tubed the creek, and spent time fishing.

Despite the weather, students made the most of the weekend, packing it full of adventure, exploration, and outdoor learning!

What started as a collaboration on Kevin's Senior Project became a day in the recording studio for FSI students Kevin, Hector, and Juan. Experiential learning often extends beyond the walls of the classroom!

Driven by their shared love of Regional Mexican music, the students spent the day at Drop of Sun Studios recording a four-song EP of original music & lyrics written by Kevin and performed with Hector and Juan. During this session they learned about the recording process, studio etiquette, mixing, and production from studio owner Lauren Van Epps and sound engineer Seamus, who mentored the students.

A huge thank you to Lauren and Seamus for opening their doors and sharing their expertise with our students. We're excited to hear the finished songs and to see Kevin, Hector, and Juan debut their work and be interviewed on La Pantera 97.3 FM in the coming weeks!

Seniors had their senior trip last week and finished out the year doing one of the things we like best - being outside! Seniors canoed, kayaked, swam, climbed alpine towers, went hiking, made smore's, played games and enjoyed the last few days together before graduation where they will head out onto their next adventure!

Congratulations to Haydin B., who has committed to Charlotte!

Haydin heads to Charlotte with an open mind; when asked about future plans, he said he hasn't discovered it, but is excited to explore how his college education will influence what he does next. That kind of curiosity is a great thing, and is often the beginning of an epic adventure.

He wanted to give a special nod to Dr. Hawkins, a teacher who made a real impact on him along the way. And before everyone heads off to what's next, Haydin is looking forward to one last summer with his friends in Asheville. We look forward to hearing what’s next for Haydin!

Congratulations to Dorian R., who has committed to SCAD, the Savannah College of Art and Design!

Dorian has a creative path in mind: he wants to get into filmmaking and work his way up to becoming a director. He gives a lot of credit for that direction to Mr. Lubos, whose film studies class and independent study sponsorship opened the door to a passion he didn't know he had. In Dorian's own words, "I would have never gotten into filmmaking if it wasn't for him and all of his help."

He heads to SCAD supported by a $17,000 per year scholarship. We look forward to seeing his name in the credits!
