We love our poll workers! đź—ł
It’s Primary Election Day in Buncombe County!
Check out 4 of our 450 poll workers at the Stephens-Lee Community Center.
Polls opened at 6:30 a.m., and as of 2 p.m., 10,778 voters have cast their ballots. That’s on top of the 30,000+ residents who voted during Early Voting.
The Tempie Avery Montford Community Center is currently leading turnout with 276 voters, followed by Hall Fletcher School with 233, and both Murphy‑Oakley and Beech Community Center close behind.
“We have five hours until polls close, and the high turnout really reflects the enthusiasm of our voters,” said Elections Services Director Corinne Duncan. “If you haven’t voted yet, get out there and be part of it.”
Polls are open until 7:30 p.m. If you’re in line by then, you’ll be able to vote. Remember to:
• Go to your assigned precinct (find it using the Voter Search Tool)
• Bring your photo ID
Curbside voting is available for voters unable to enter the polling place due to age or disability.
Returning an absentee ballot?
Ballots must be returned by 7:30 p.m. today to 35 Woodfin St. by the voter or a near relative. Ensure your envelope is signed and includes a copy of your photo ID. Polling places cannot accept absentee ballots.
We’ll release our next update at 4:30 p.m.
