Asheville, NC (June 9, 2026): Asheville Police Department detectives continue to investigate a March homicide and are requesting the public’s help for additional information.

APD Major Case Unit detectives are actively following new leads in a March homicide investigation as lab results begin to return. While the investigation continues, investigators are asking for the public's assistance. Eric Lee Anderson Lordman Jr. (06/10/1998) was discovered deceased near Granada Street at approximately 12:20 a.m. on March 7th, having suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Detectives remain committed to the case but still need additional information from the community.

Tomorrow would have marked Eric’s 28th birthday. The City of Asheville and the APD recognize June as Gun Violence Awareness Month, and, tragically, we find ourselves recognizing that Eric now joins the list of those lost to senseless actions. Our deepest sympathies remain with his child and his large, extended family, and all victims of gun violence.

While Asheville Police Department detectives are thankful for the tips provided in this case so far, they urge anyone with even the smallest detail to come forward. If you have any information about this incident, please contact APD to help secure justice for Eric and his loved ones. Anonymous tips can be sent using the TIP2APD smartphone application (search “Asheville PD” in your app store) or by texting TIP2APD to 847411.

Things got a little heated today, as our BLET cadets traded their usual training drills for hands-on fire extinguisher training! They learned how to assess a fire scene and master the P.A.S.S. method (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep). Real-life situations demand immediate action, and building this muscle memory now ensures they are ready to protect and serve in any emergency.
