Please join us on Monday, Nov. 3rd at the County commissioners meeting. Your voice needs to be heard. Please do not allow our commissioners to override the decision of the Library Board,
STAND WITH OUR LIBRARY — STAND FOR TRUTH, RESPECT, AND COMMUNITY
Friends and neighbors,
Our community is under attack — not from outside enemies, but from ignorance and fear.
I was recently shown an email from a pastor who does not even live here, asking outsiders to come to Asheboro to pressure our County Commissioners to remove our Library Board of Trustees.
Why? Because after hearing the facts and considering all sides, our library board made the fair and courageous decision to keep a children’s book about a transgender youth on the shelves — a book that helps some children see themselves reflected, and helps others learn compassion and understanding.
Now these outsiders want to silence that compassion and punish the staff and volunteers who stood up for fairness, inclusion, and the freedom to read.
Let’s be clear:
Our library staff are not pushing an agenda — they are protecting one of our most sacred rights as Americans — the right to read, to learn, and to think for ourselves.
This is not about one book. This is about who we are as a community.
Will we allow fear and misinformation to divide us?
Or will we come together — as neighbors, parents, educators, and people of faith — to defend truth, empathy, and the freedom to learn?
Now is not the time to be quiet.
Now is the time to stand up, to speak out, and to show up — for our librarians, for our children, and for the future of Randolph County.
📣 Join us Monday night, November 3rd, at 6:00 PM
📍 Historic Randolph County Courthouse Meeting Room
145-C Worth Street, Asheboro, NC 27203
Let’s fill that room and show our County Commissioners that Randolph County stands for respect, knowledge, and community — not censorship and hate.
Bring your voice. Bring your heart. Bring your neighbors.
Together, let’s remind everyone watching that Asheboro is a place of love, learning, and courage.
Stand up for knowledge. Stand up for kindness. Stand up for our library.
This is a copy of a letter being sent out to get our County Commissioners to marginalize members of our community.
