As a country, we are faced with a entrenched two-party political system that does not represent the majority of the American people. In a stunning poll from Gallup, 61 percent of Americans believe that neither the Democratic nor Republican parties does an adequate job governing the country, and that a third party is necessary. The number is up 4 points since last year, and represents the highest t
otal of Americans wanting a third party in the history of the poll. Perhaps even more interesting is the largest number of independent voters (77%) said they wanted a third party that was centrist and focused on solutions, the highest in history, and a large percentage of Democrats and Republicans (close to 50% in both polls) also said they would like to see an active third party. Leadership for America PAC is being built to support centrist, independent candidates who want to run for the Reform Party.
